"I'm happy here, I'm settled here, if I can get a deal done I'd be happy to sign it," he told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"The club are speaking at the moment to my agent, I tend to leave it to them, I don't get involved day-in day-out."
He added: "Hopefully we can get something sorted soon, hopefully it will take care of itself but the sooner the better."
Norris returned to action at the weekend after a three-week lay-off with an ankle injury, but failed to help stem his side's slump in form, with Town losing their third league game in a row at Hull.

"One week you think you're there and the next week you think you're miles away," Norris said about Ipswich's pursuit of their best form.
"That seems to be the nature of this league, we win our next two games and we're in the semi-final of the League Cup and jut outside the play-offs.
"But you lose a couple and you're out the cup and you're down towards relegation.
"It's a fine line. It's not like it's just happening here, I think it will be happening at a lot of grounds."
Town's next game is not just any game however, with a trip to local rivals Norwich City the prospect on Sunday.
Norris' East Anglian derby record stands at one won and lost one, so he understands the emotions involved with being the victors and the defeated on derby day.
"I've played in a couple and they're really good days. You can only enjoy them if you win," he said.
"You lose one of them you can't go out for a few weeks.
"If you win one everyone's your best friend and it's the perfect time for us to go there and get a victory and hopefully give the place a lift.
"At the end of the day it is the same prize at the end of the game, it's just the three points, but for the fans it's more about the pride, we've got to do a job."
