19 year old Dubliner, Gerrard Nash could follow in the footsteps of Dean McDonald, with a loan move to League One outfit Hartlepool.

Joe Royle confirmed to the official club website: "We are talking to Hartlepool about the possibly of Gerrard going there.

"He is a promising player who has been held up by injuries but he's back playing now and it would be good for him to go out and play first-team football."

Nash has been blighted by injuries at Portman Road and has recently recovered from his second major operation in the same number of years.

In other news, Royle stated that 3 of last season's FA Youth Cup winner's will not be offered new deals in the summer. The captain of that side; Liam Craig will join Cathal Lordan and Aidian Collins in having to look for new clubs before the end of the season.

Craig looks to have established himself a move back to his native Scotland, with a deal at Falkirk rumoured to be on the cards.

18 year old midfelder, Lordan also looks to have a deal on the cards, with Gillingham set to offer him a trial.

The release of Aidian Collins, however, the only one of the trio who has featured in the first team comes as a suprise. Collins, 19, has made a couple of appearances for the first team this season, with solid showings at Stoke and in the league cup.
