The former Hartlepool man has been suffering with a thigh problem for the last week which led to his withdrawl in last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Coventry City at Highfield Road.

However despite not taking part in any training so far this week, he feels he will be ready in time to face Wigan: "The problem is at the top of my thigh, close to the hip and it's been bothering me for two weeks or so." he told the Official Club Website.

"It stiffened up early in the game at Coventry and I knew it was no good carrying on but it's improving now and hopefully I can do some work this afternoon. If that all goes okay, I should be all right for Saturday. It's a big game and I want to be out there."
