Boss Joe Royle has already hinted that the ex-Northern Irish international will be offered a twelve month contract when negotiations begin, and Magilton is happy to wait for the season to end before sorting out the finer details.

"There have been no negotiations and the gaffer hasn't spoken to me about this yet. When the time comes, I will discuss it with him”. Magilton added: "I don't have a problem with waiting until Joe approaches me. I have a fantastic relationship with him and I trust him. We'll talk when the time is right."

Meanwhile, contact between Town and Reading
over a possible loan deal involving Royal's striker Shaun Goater has been confirmed by Royle.

Talking to the official club site the Town boss said: "Yes, there has been dialogue between myself and Steve Coppell about Shaun but he is not the only player we have enquired about."

Reading boss Steve Coppell is yet to comment publicly.
