If Wigan were to not win this afternoon, it would be great news for Town's promotion quest, leaving the challenge still in Town's hands as long as Town avoid defeat against Sunderland on Sunday.
However a win for Wigan would mean Town would realistically need a win against Sunderland to keep up with Wigan, if Town lost against Sunderland, Joe Royle's men would have to hope Wigan only win one of their last three games and Town gain at least seven points from their last three games to have any chance of promotion.
