Klug: Draw Was Fair Result

Two goals from Irish midfielder Cathal Lordan fired the blues to be 2-1 ahead after earlier going a goal down, but Leon Best equalised just after the hour mark to send the sides back to Portman Road on Friday with the scores tied.

Speaking of his sides peformance, Klug told the Official Club Website: "I felt we were very unlucky to go in at the break behind, with Southampton scoring in the last seconds. It was an evenly balanced game and we thoroughly deserved a draw in the end.

"They boys worked hard and played some football in what was an exciting match and an excellent advert for youth team football.

"We're happy with the result and just as importantly the performance and it sets up the second-leg nicely."
