Royle is desperate to bring in a striker to partner Alan Lee, after Danny Haynes joined Forster and Parkin on the sidelines.

The Blues boss confirmed that he has made three enquiries in the last twenty four hours and is still waiting to hear back from two managers, hopefully before the weekend.

Royle told the club site that striker would have to be able to partner Lee though: "Sam is still three weeks away from playing first team football so we are light in numbers again but I don't just want to bring a player in for the sake of it.

"It needs to be someone who can compliment Alan Lee in style. He has been tremendous since he arrived at the Club and if we were tunring the corner when he arrived, he has pushed us around it," said Royle.

Joe also admitted that he tried to bring American youngster and former Town loannee Danny Karbassiyon to Portman Road in the summer. The former Arsenal player will now line up against the Blues at Portman Road on Saturday for Burnley.

Burnley have recently lost the Championships form striker in Ade Akinbyi but are still hovering with a chance of reaching the play-offs.
