"I need to be a bit more ruthless. I think I've been too good to a lot of players," Keane told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"We've got to hang in there until January, try and stop this run, move one or two in, move one or two out."
Ipswich have failed to score more than one goal in a game since 6 November, when Tamas Priskin and Gareth McAuley secured a 2-1 win at Sheffield United.
And Keane has put a new striker top of his shopping list, but will not know how much he has to spend until after Saturday's tea-time kick off with Leicester.

"Hopefully we'll talk about it this week, let's just concentrate on the game," he said.
"It might be a case of having to move one or two players out.
"We've got decisions to make on some of the loan players in January."
With Ipswich having slumped to 18th in the Championship the Irishman has tried to get a bit of perspective this week, by taking some time away from the game.
"Let's not over dramatise it and think I was in some monastery for a few days," he joked.
"I was just away up in Manchester for one or two days, the players have had their Christmas do and I had one or two days to myself.
"I've got one or two friends outside of football which sometimes you need because I'm sure supporters, and some other people at the club, say it's about getting on the training pitch.
"Believe it or not sometimes it's about stepping back and reflecting and trying to look at where we're going wrong."
