McAuley, 30, had to undergo surgery on his ongoing Achilles problem while Wickham, 17, picked up a thigh injury in a reserve match on Wednesday.
Tom Eastman, Mark Kennedy and Luke Hyam are also on the treatment table.
"They decided they wanted to operate on Gareth," boss Roy Keane told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"We're looking at probably just under a couple of months.
"It's a big blow, in the back of our minds we were hoping he might be available for this weekend.

"It's the way things are panning out, the lads picking up injuries - they seem to be proper injuries."
The squad was boosted by the arrival of striker Rory Fallon from Plymouth and right-back Gianni Zuiverloon from West Brom, both on loan, on Thursday.
"You look at the right-back position and Jamie [Peters] has done well, considering it's not his position, Tom [Eastman] has done OK, it's caught up with him the last week or two," Keane added.
"So it's a position we've been looking at. We're delighted to have Gianni, who's a good player and will give us a bit of composure in terms of going forward.
"With Connor getting injured we felt we needed a bit more fire power, or certainly an aerial threat, so we brought Rory in from Plymouth.
"He's the type of player we were looking at Jason [Scotland] and Tamas [Priskin] like balls into the channels and sometimes when you're having a go in the last five minutes we haven't had someone to come off the bench and win headers."
Midfielder Alan Quinn came through 45 minutes in the midweek reserve defeat by Tottenham as he steps us his recovery from a groin injury.
But he is unlikely to be risked against the Canaries, despite scoring the deciding goal between the sides the last time they met.
