Hermann Hriedar-soon?

Portsmouth are a club in financial difficulty and more players could well follow in the footsteps of Sulley Muntari, who left Fratton Park in the Summer.

One of those players is versatile Icelandic defender, Hriedarsson.

It is not a one horse race to sign the defender, Charlton Athletic and Premiership strugglers, West Bromwich Albion, being linked.

Jim has the likes of Wright, Volz and now fit again Thatcher to play as full backs, with Balkenstein and Bruce also haven being used in this role.

However Jim is keen to add to his defensive options, and the versatility and experience Hriedarsson has in the game, is something which has attracted the gaffers attention.

It is well documented that fans are still not happy with Towns backline despite the addition of a number of defenders in the summer.

Hermann could well be a replacement for Naylor, which will come as a sigh of relief to many Town fans.
