FA Demand Explanation for Norris Celebration

The 26-year-old midfielder has admitted the gesture was a "private" message intended to be for his former Plymouth Argyle team-mate, who is currently in prision serving seven years and four months for causing the deaths brothers Aaron and Ben Peak.

The midfielder celebrated his goal in the 1-0 win against Blackpool at the weekend by performing a hand-cuff like gesture in support of his former team-mate who was responsible for the deaths of two children after falling asleep at the wheel whilst over the alcohol limit

A spokesperson for the FA confirmed: "We are aware of the incident and have written to Ipswich to seek an explanation from David Norris for his actions and await his response."

The club have confirmed they will be taking their own action against the midfielder and will release a statement later today.
