Dyer cites unfinished business

He told BBC Radio Suffolk: "It's a shame they are not higher up the league as it would have been nice to help them get in the Premier League.

"I'm a Blue at heart...I've always been welcome back with open arms."

Dyer made his first appearance for the Tractor Boys since 1999 in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Leeds.

But he warned Ipswich fans that he may not be back for long.

"I am still a West Ham player and everyone has to respect that," he said.

"After this month, if I'm fit I'll be going back to play for West Ham."

The former England midfielder's contract at Upton Park expires this summer, and he admitted he does not yet know where he will be playing next season.

"In the summer, who knows? I'll have a good break then I'll have a tough decision," he said.

"The loan might go horribly wrong and Ipswich won't want me back in the summer."

Ipswich face Watford on Tuesday evening, but Dyer said he may not be ready to start after playing 74 minutes at Elland Road.

"We'll have to see how I am tomorrow. I want to start so hopefully my legs feel good," he added.
