Colback Would Love Longer Stay

Talking to the official club website, the 19 year old said: "It's still early days but if it goes well for me here and the gaffer wanted me to stay, then I'd be happy to spend the year here.

"We will have to wait and see how things work out over the next few months. I certainly want to play first team football and I'd rather stay here then go back to Sunderland and play in the reserves - if that is what the gaffer wants.

"Coming to Ipswich gives me a chance to play first team football and that is what I need at this stage of my career, that's what I need to progress as a player.

"I have played a few games now and feel that I am imposing myself a bit more on the team but the results are the main thing and they have not gone as well as we would have liked. The signs are there though that things will change around very quickly."
