Clarke Nominated for Player of the Month

It comes after Clarke smashed four past Macclesfield last weekend for his loan club Darlington.

He won the man of the match award in the game and also was placed in the League Two Team of the Week.

The question which now should be asked is were Town right to let Clarke go out on loan?

Ipswich are a little short upfront, especially before Jon Stead's deadline day arrival, seen by many as a last ditch signing.

However young Billy will have no doubt have bagged loads of confidence during his first month with Darlington, which can only develop the player further.

Clarke first came on to the Ipswich scene in November 2005. He was then sent out on loan to rivals Colchester United.

He scored his first goal in an Ipswich shirt against Southampton. He showed a real promise during this short period and big things were expected from the now, 20 year old.

Clarke then drifted out of the first team picture once again, much like Dean Bowditch did a few seasons back.

Town fans will now be hoping when he comes back to Suffolk he will reproduce the form and confidence which he is showing at Darlington.
