The 20 year old has recently broke into the first team after a series of injuries have blighted his development at Portman Road.

Last Season Scott was on the casualty list for almost all of the campaign, suffering a double hernia.

His fine run in the first team, since the injury to Jay McEveley has seen him make the spot his own and he has been rewarded with a new 2 and a half year contract at the club.

Preston born Scott told the club site: "I'm delighted to have been offered and signed a new contract.

"I knew it was a big season for me, what with me being out of contract in the summer, but always felt that if I could break in to the side then a new deal would follow.

"Obviously being out injured for virtually the whole year last season didn't help me progress, but this season has been great for me.

"I am getting a regular run in the side and am learning all the time from the players around me."
