Adam John-soon?

Jim is keen to add a left winger to Portman Road and try and kick start Town's poor start to the season, the worst in 5 years.

Johnson was linked with a move back in June and also on the last day of the transfer window, although nothing confirmed these reports.

Johnson has found it hard to break in to Boro's first team, who England international Stewart Downing currently is ahead of in the pecking order.

Meanwhile Newcastle front man, Andy Carroll has been linked with a move to Town in the morning tabloids.

The big front man could be used as a target man in Jim's set up at Portman Road, although with the deadline day arrival of Jon Stead any move for the 19 year old seems unlikely.

Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross has also been linked to Town yet again.

If Jim decides to add to his squad during the emergency loan window, he could acquire a player for up to 93 days, after which the player would have to return to his parent club or a permanent deal would have to be made.
