Why Norwich Shouldn't be Relegated
Feature by Christopher Moss
Updated Monday, 23rd March 2009
Despite picking up 17 points in the last 13 games, Norwich are still in real danger of getting relegated to the 3rd tier, for the first time since 1960.

A lot of us fans will take pleasure in seeing our arch rivals disappear into oblivion and with the reported financial problems the club has, they will remain there for many years to come.

Should this happen, it would be like losing an important part of our club in the process. Norwich have followed us neck and neck, throughout the last 30 years.

Both clubs have enjoyed varying degrees of success; promotion, Europe and being a real competitive side in the top tier and failure- relegation and years of fanatical struggle in the Championship. We would have no barometer to gauge our success at, no club to take superiority over.

Most of all, no East Anglian Derby - losing the build up and atmosphere at the game. Simply put, no other match in our season gets near to it. Over the last few seasons, these matches have given our clubs meaning, to otherwise frustrating campaigns.

There is no better feeling than beating your arch rivals. The high you get afterwards takes some beating. We know, we have won a lot of them recently!

If Norwich depart this league and once the gloating and Mickey taking is over, many of you fans who disagree with me, will realise that there is something missing from our club. It will be like having no nemesis, no Lex Luthor to our Superman or the Joker to Batman.

So I wish them well (not too well) in staying in the Championship, as a famous poster said, 'They're a pain in the bum, but they're our pain in the bum.'
