For selected home games throughout the 2009/10 season we will be providing a fans view of home games to the Independent newspaper's Monday sports pull-out. The articles will also be published online late Monday evening / Tuesday morning on our website for all to see.

Thoughts on Town Tactics:

Have to say the experiment with one central striker, two wide midfielders and three central midfielders just is not working. I've never been a fan of the system and I've seen nothing to change my mind particularly when the three central midfielders include Trotter who to me is an average Championship player at best whilst Peters is simply not a central midfielder. Stead looks too isolated up front too.

Thoughts on Team Selection
Owen Garvan really should have played from the start today. I believe he is by far our most creative midfielder, with David Norris sidelined I felt there could be no other choice, especially when you consider the improvement he made to our play against Coventry at the weekend, however, Keano decided to go for fellow Cork man Colin Healy who did nothing to impress me and it was no surprise to see him come off at half time.

Look to the Future
It is very early and there is plenty of time to turn things around and for the team to gel, so no need to panic just yet, however I think most fans would have hoped for more from the opening two games of the season than just a single point.
